Why do I love God?

emboss-infinityReligion may seem “dead” today, but it occurs to me that only material dogmas are really dead.

The love of God, and the love that God has towards us is very much alive. This is what “real” religion, or spirituality, is all about — that precious, tender relationship between God, man and all living things.

Why do I love God?

  • God is my Sustaining Infinite and Protector.
  • God is my Mind, and all of His/Her thoughts are lovely, loving and pure.
  • God’s Love is like a warm comforter on a cold, winter night that is always with me.
  • God’s Truth gives me direction and confidence.
  • God’s Soul gives me identity and identity to all living things in perfect unity. God’s Soul also gives me creativity, spontaneity and joy.
  • God’s Spirit is the substance of my being. It includes health, harmony and abundance.
  • God’s Life is my life. Forever and always.
  • God’s Principle is my solid foundation. The life, truth and love that I can never fall from.

These reasons for why I love God cause me to contemplate the question: how big is your God?

We can all expand our understanding and perception of God everyday. This spiritual understanding is the answer to every thing we need. It comprises the wholeness of who we are. It is basis for your health, your life purpose, your worth, and satisfaction.

This spiritual wholeness is illustrated in Christ Jesus’ statement, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.” (Matthew 22:37 NIV)

Take a moment for spirituality!

A little more grace, a motive made pure, a few truths tenderly told, a heart softened, a character subdued, a life consecrated, would restore the right action of the mental mechanism, and make manifest the movement of body and soul in accord with God. —Mary Baker Eddy (Miscellaneous Writings, p. 354)

This passage came to thought as I was praying. Isn’t this what the action of the Christ — the divine message from the God to man — does in the world?

Whatever challenge we are facing — or the world is facing — this spiritual action and humility will restore harmony, and bring our experience in line with the divine.

Whether you are dealing with fear or sickness, being a care-giver for someone, or governing a nation, this spiritual action can and will restore health and harmony in every situation.

Are you too busy for Love? Perhaps take a moment to call someone you have been thinking about. It will make a world of difference to them!

Have you been thinking condemning thoughts about someone in your family or community? Take a moment and witness God’s love for them. Feeling God’s love will lift you up, too!

Have you been running out of patience in a situation? Take a moment to feel calm and reflect on God. You will be able to run miles on this freshness and renewal!

Mental inbox

Today I took some time to clean out my inbox. I don’t know how I end up subscribed to so many emails; I usually just ignore them (which is easy to do with the new Google filters) and once in a while I’ll delete them all.

However, today I took the time to unsubscribe from the many lists. Wow, did that feel good! Imagine: having an inbox where you hear only what you want to hear. It’s so tranquil and peaceful.

That is the mental atmosphere, or consciousness, I want to live in as well. It is peaceful and still, and all I can hear is God speaking to me.

This is possible!

Unsubscribe from all the voices you don’t need to hear: self-criticism, condemnation, worry, human will and opinions, etc.

Enjoy a mental inbox that is peaceful and tranquil. Only receive messages of love, value, your worth, purity, innocence and beauty as a child of God. You have an indestructible relationship to your Father-Mother God. And She is speaking messages of comfort and healing to you each moment.
