Live distraction free

I’ve decided the best gift I can give my son is to live free from distraction. I love to be free of mental clutter…the crowding wants and woes that leave little room to feel divine Spirit.

Let us feel the divine energy of Spirit, bringing us into newness of life…*

We all want to feel that freshness that comes like spring.

How do we bring that delight, childlikeness and joy into each moment? By silencing the push and pull of materialism. By declaring that you have the right to be free from mental burden and distraction. By knowing that distraction is not coming from your Maker.

So, instead, take this moment to turn wholeheartedly to God. Give your children and your true selfhood your whole attention and focus. Experience joy and freshness like children do. Watch how that simple joy can expand and fill your heart with delight.

Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you.**

You are mine

“You are mine” and “You are special”. Sweet books by Max Lucado that we read to our little one. They are sweet because they remind us that what the world says of us can’t really stick if we don’t believe it. We can daily listen to our Maker, the Creator of the universe, that tells us how perfect, special and good He made us.

There is a lot of noise in the world. Clanging cymbals of doubt, lack, remorse, uncertainty. But we can counteract this by dwelling in the “secret place of the Most High”, listening to the thoughts that God gives us.

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.*

God has only good for you and that goodness exists right now within you. Good is the truth about you now and forever.

The Bible tells about the disciples hearts that burning within them while they talked with Jesus (as he illuminated the Scriptures to them).

Don’t we all want out hearts to burn within us through an inspiration and spiritual understanding? God says “before you were in the womb, I knew you” and “the very hairs on your head are all numbered.”

Each of us is infinitely valued, needed and special to God. Each us has an individuality that is safe and pure. Each of us is spiritual, made in the image and likeness of Life and Love itself.

Overcoming personality

I’m trying to be alert to the need not to glorify or belittle someone else’s personality. Sure there are some people that we get along with more than others, but looking deeply to see the spiritual nature — the God bestowed nature that includes an inexhaustible list of spiritual qualities — is helping me perceive divine reality. The actual spiritual substance that is underlying being.

For instance, if someone is sick, I can see that person spiritually as whole, poised, receptive, loving, at one with God and including all right ideas from God, while tending to their human need with compassion and humility.

Jesus beheld in Science the perfect man, who appeared to him where sinning mortal man appears to mortals. In this perfect man the Saviour saw God’s own likeness, and this correct view of man healed the sick. Thus Jesus taught that the kingdom of God is intact, universal, and that man is pure and holy.*

This spiritual perspective heals.

This can be helpful in an office setting as well. That horrible boss is actually God’s spiritual, valuable, loved and loving child. He or she is the embodiment of light. Discerning even one good thing, one quality such as compassion toward their family or honesty with their colleagues, can heal the situation because it melts the suggestions of evil that say that all is material and limited.

This is absolutely helpful in looking at political leaders. That great act didn’t come from that particular person; it came from God giving the right idea — expressing Himself — to the people so that it would be a blessing to the community.

Giving the credit to God helps me realize everyone’s innate Christly nature and capacity to be receptive to the ideas and messages coming to them from God. I can recognize that we all have the power to listen to God and that we don’t have to fear because it is our Father’s good pleasure to give us the Kingdom (Luke 12:32).

All of us can recognize the Kingdom within (Luke 17:21) and work together effectively to see that.
Let’s rejoice!

Turn the ordinary into the extraordinary today!

Turn the ordinary into the extraordinary today!

We can do that by living Christ – the message of love from God to all men, women and children.

Bringing the Christ — the Spirit of Truth and Love – into all your conversations and interactions  makes today a truly special day.

I love to think back on moments where I have felt the Christ — the transforming power of God’s love that Jesus so perfectly embodied. Sometimes it’s been on Christmas day, so full of a spiritual love for others, the love of family and friends. Sometimes it has been at a summer camp where the beautiful voices of our counselors fill the air as they sing hymns while we lay in bed falling asleep. Other times it has been in the innocent, sinless, childlike joy that comes from doing fun activities that are wholesome and good.

The message of Christ is that each of us is loved right where we are. Christly love is such a contrast to the brusqueness and busyness of some days. But we can take pause and know that there is nothing more powerful than Christ love and that it is here today healing, uplifting and blessing the world.

I know that we all have moments of encountering God’s unconditional love. These moments are the reality. These moments of glimpsing the divine presence and allness and goodness are what we live for — they annihilate discord, sickness, fear, lack sometimes in even just a moment.

One moment of divine consciousness, or the spiritual understanding of Life and Love, is a foretaste of eternity.1

Don’t we all want more of this “eternity” — a sense of concrete goodness that will never end? Absolutely! We can choose to live this spiritual reality right now by Christ’s love being so real to us that nothing else matters.

Sometimes we have to work for it — fight for those moments of serenity, satisfaction, peace, of knowing how loved you are and your colleagues and friends and family are. The “mist” would try to obscure the view, to hide who we really are as the Sons and Daughters of Light. But don’t believe it! Take the time to pray, meditate or feel the connection with the Divine presence, the special and unique way that Christ speaks specifically to you. And then, once you feel filled up with that love, share it with others! Give it like a Christmas gift to brighten someone’s day. It is the best gift we can ever give.

A prayer for peace

balance-15712_960_720God, the universal Spirit, is the Source of all good and never the cause of evil. Good is a term that is synonymous with God. Good is governing the entire universe right now. Good lasts! Good is in harmony with itself and all creation. No one “owns” good because God is good. Good is abundant and always available for all people to rejoice in.

God saw all that he had made, and it was very good.

When we start with God, the Cause of all good, we start our prayers correctly.

We don’t have to react to evil or change our lives to accommodate, or make room for, evil.

We never have to stop living, being and see good!

There is no door through which evil can enter, and no space for evil to fill in a mind filled with goodness.

beautiful-16736_960_720God, good, is filling all space. Let that inform your actions. The goodness of God can be the only activity in consciousness when we are at one with God and living love in our daily actions.

The world is in our consciousness and our consciousness makes up our world. So let’s not be dominated by error. Let Good, Truth, dominate error in all our thoughts and actions.

Let’s choose to live in peace, to love all our brothers and sisters,  and not give up or give in to fear.

The evil thinker is the proud talker and doer. The right thinker abides under the shadow of the Almighty. His thoughts can only reflect peace, good will towards men, health, and holiness.

Peace is present right now.

Goodness involuntarily resists evil.

He provides everything we need

We’ve all been there. I want this or I want that. The relentless wants and woes that come with humans.

How can we resist the pull of materialism to feeling God’s perfect grace moving in us and providing everything we need?

bridge-896027_960_720I’ve had times when I KNOW God is leading and guiding me. I don’t doubt it because I know with every fiber of my being that it is right — that Love is leading me. And it works out great, so much better than I could have planned.

Perfect peace. Assurance. Divine love and care. That’s what God’s leading feels like.

So, how do we feel that? How do we attain a recognition of the divine presence and direction on a more consistent basis?

We can start by understanding God has already created perfection. We aren’t mini creators doing His work for Him.

His work is done, and we have only to avail ourselves of God’s rule in order to receive His blessing…
heart-947440_960_720Avail ourselves of God’s rule — God’s law of harmonious action guiding and governing everyone’s lives. The impartial love of God for ALL!

Only one law, one rule: God’s law of infinite supply, abundance, happiness, love and joy for everyone, everywhere. No one is outside of it.

As we see that God’s infinite love and goodness is there for all humanity (Jesus’ parables remind us that we are all neighbors) we see that it is present for us, too, and we can then claim it and experience it.

Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.
