Prayer of liberation

Jesus prayers were “… deep and conscientious protests of Truth, — of man’s likeness to God and of man’s unity with Truth and Love.”*

Recently, I’ve been thinking about prayer as being a “protest of Truth” — a recognition of who and what God is and our oneness with God as the spiritual image and likeness. How do we make this deeply practical?

To me, this means acknowledging God as infinite Love, and each of us as the spiritual image and likeness of Love. That means we can’t have anything that isn’t derived from Spirit, God. We reflect the peace, love, and joy that proceed from God. This is the law of our being. When our prayers goes from wishing to see more of God in our experience to a recognition of the underlying facts of our being, this prayer results in awakening and healing. We awaken to who we really are as spiritual children of God, and we experience more health and greater freedom from limitation.

Isn’t this what Jesus really embodied? The liberation of humanity from sickness, lack, inequality — a false bondage that didn’t have any authority from the Father? Didn’t he embody the reality of divine Love so that everyone who he came in contact with felt the effect and power of that Love? The people he came in contact with were healed, transformed, revitalized, and shared the good they experienced with others.

There have been many people throughout the centuries who have embodied that spirit of liberation, –Nelson Mandela, Mary Baker Eddy, Martin Luther King, Jr., and others, — that resulted in greater peace and freedom for others. They have protested mentally and physically to a greater possibility that wasn’t yet visible to others. They discerned the integrity and worth of each child of God regardless of physical circumstances.

Each of our prayers can be a “protest of Truth” to this greater, deeper reality that Jesus saw beyond the physical. He understood our unity with Truth and Love and the spiritual rights we each have as the image and likeness of God. He demonstrated that the Father’s will for each of us is goodness, health, love, and worthiness. He proved that the breaking down of physical, social, and emotional limitations is for each one of us — and it is really the breaking down of every mental imposition which says “you can’t”, “you are less than others”, or “God doesn’t know or love you”. By standing up to these negative inner and outer voices, we can demonstrate the establishment of God’s will here and now. We can usher in the goodness of His presence and our completeness, wholeness, and exemption from anything that doesn’t proceed from our Father, God.

Prayerful protests keep us awake to who and what we are, so that we don’t drift along with materialistic thoughts. They keep us active and alert to the inner divine power that governs us. This spiritual power loves, embraces, and keeps us mentally and physically secure. We can have confidence in the power of good that lives within us.

Live your freedom today! Praying with a powerful protest of Truth and Love brings freedom to mind and body, and shines a bright light in the world!

Maintain peace, health, and poise

Where do you live? Safe in the consciousness of Love in the “secret place of the Most High”. (Psalm 91:1)

No error, disease, hypnotic news feed, can touch or hinder your divine being. Every aspect of you is embraced in Divine Love. Love knows no seperation from you.

Love maintains your health and wellbeing infinitely. Love loves to delight in you! Just like a Mother and her child, Love, God, is nurturing you, sustaining you, giving you mental poise and balance. Feeding you with the Truth of your being. You know who you are. A child of light!

This means that wherever you go, no doubt, stress, or fear can touch you. You rest safely in the arms of Love. You know that!

Remember you are loved!

Your right to mental health and freedom

There are many people today talking about the subject of mental health. Whether your dealing with anxiety, depression, or simply wanting greater confidence and freedom and expansive thinking, we have the right and ability to find freedom now. Where does it come from? Is it about a brain that is in perfect balance? Or do we have another Mind that we can look to that transcends the body? The Mind I am talking about is God, divine Mind, our one perfect Source of clear, joyful, and beautiful thinking.

The Bible says “we have the mind of Christ” (1 Cor 2:16).  Mary Baker Eddy refers to God as divine Mind. This Mind is sound, pure, and healthy. This Mind or consciousness is not located in a body because it is spiritual. It is totally good, peaceful, and happy. And the good news is that this consciousness and Mind is actually ours already — it’s within us.  We have instant access to divine Mind all the time giving us the right ideas to think.

Having no other gods, turning to no other but the one perfect Mind to guide him, man is the likeness of God, pure and eternal, having that Mind which was also in Christ. — Mary Baker Eddy

Genesis 1 describes man as being made in the image and likeness of God, Spirit. Since man is the image and likeness of God, then man is actually the image and likeness of the perfect Mind. How important it is to awaken to this spiritual recognition and fact. The good news is that this spiritual identity that God has made you to be is totally good, pure, absolutely loved, worthy and beautiful. It is only made up of good. God couldn’t make anything less! You are the spiritual image and likeness of God right now. You don’t have to wait! God is giving you the thoughts to think about your worthiness, wholeness and how loved you are right now. So, you can go straight to the Source — God, infinite Love, –who is giving you good thoughts to think, loving and embracing you each moment with these tender truths.

I find Psalms 23 and 91 to be so helpful in praying each day. Check it out:

The Lord is my shepherding my thinking
God is giving me good and pure thoughts
God leads me with peaceful and still thinking
God restores my sense of who I am; God leads me in paths of right thinking — confidently and securely so that I can glorify Her.
Though I walk through the darkest valley
I will fear no evil because Love, my divine Mind, is with me.
Divine Love, Mind, is guiding and guarding me.
Divine Mind is anointing my consciousness with purity, love and peace — enough that it overflows
God’s tender mercies will follow me all the days of my life,
And I will dwell in the consciousness of perfect Love, my divine Mind, my author and Creator, forever.

Of course you can vary these Psalms to utilize in any way that is helpful to you for a morning and evening prayer!

For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. 2 Timothy 1:7
