Block out the noise

I love this scene in the movie Race (2016). It shows us how clearly we want to stay tuned in to God, divine Love, and the messages God is communicating to us, and tuned out to evil, negativity, fears that the world tries to impose on us. We all have that capability to stay tuned in to God. God’s messages are ones of fearlessness, strength, poise, gentleness, inspiration, and calm. They counteract chaos and fear with the sweet assurance of knowing we are as God’s beloved children.

Jesus referred to this as going into your closet and shutting the door to pray (Matthew 6:6). We want to close out all those other voices — the world, the doubts, etc. — leave them outside the door. Don’t take them in to that prayer closet with you. You want to be so still, so quiet, that you can hear God’s angel thoughts speaking directly to you telling you that you are calm, safe, loved, cared for, worthy; telling you how much God loves you.

The LORD on high is mightier than the noise of many waters, yea, than the mighty waves of the sea. Psalms 93:4

When we glimpse God’s love it’s like the radiant sun that melts our doubts and fears away. This is the “secret place of the Most High” (that Psalm 91 mentions) where want to dwell mentally. And we can take that “secret place” with us in our workplace, the grocery store, our homes. This is where we hear and feel God telling us that we are children of our loved divine Father-Mother, made in Spirit’s image and likeness. We can see those around us as dwelling in that secret place as well, whether or not they recognize it. In this way we glimpse God’s love as a comforting embrace where we all live and move together.

Through the love of God our Saviour
All will be well;
Free and changeless is His favor;
All must be well;
Precious is the Love that healed us,
Perfect is the grace that sealed us,
Strong the hand stretched forth to shield us;
All, all is well.

Maintain peace, health, and poise

Where do you live? Safe in the consciousness of Love in the “secret place of the Most High”. (Psalm 91:1)

No error, disease, hypnotic news feed, can touch or hinder your divine being. Every aspect of you is embraced in Divine Love. Love knows no seperation from you.

Love maintains your health and wellbeing infinitely. Love loves to delight in you! Just like a Mother and her child, Love, God, is nurturing you, sustaining you, giving you mental poise and balance. Feeding you with the Truth of your being. You know who you are. A child of light!

This means that wherever you go, no doubt, stress, or fear can touch you. You rest safely in the arms of Love. You know that!

Remember you are loved!

A moment of spiritual clarity that heals

A recent news article highlighted the number of teens dealing with depression and anxiety. It reminded me of a time when I was dealing with a deep depression or a deep sense of loneliness. There wasn’t a particular reason for it. I had a happy life with plenty and friends, a nice boyfriend, a good job, etc. But there I was feeling like a victim to these feelings of sadness. I had been trying to skirt the issue by filling my schedule up with dates with friends and activities. But when my boyfriend at the time was unavailable one evening to hang out with me, I had no one else to turn to, and I finally found myself alone confronted with these feelings of loneliness. There I was feeling very alone, and I sat on my bed crying — or rather sobbing — for some time.

But then I reached out to God. It was a simple prayer. A simple and heartfelt “God, help me”. In other words, God help me overcome this deep loneliness and sadness I am feeling that has come out of nowhere! Well, then I heard this voice. It said “You don’t have to be tempted by this.” Whoa! I was amazed. I was especially amazed because it completely freed me in that instant. In that very moment I was instantaneously cured. Sadness was gone. I dried my eyes. Turned off the light, rolled over, and went peacefully to sleep.

That moment was a revelation — like a light turned on. In that instant, I realized all those negative thoughts were actually outside of me trying to get in and wasn’t a part of me. God showed me it was a temptation from the carnal mind, evil, and thereby wasn’t something that was part of me. It was not coming from inside of me and needing to get out. It was the other way around! It was outside of me trying to enter through the door of my consciousness. That gave me a sense of clarity and showed me that the problem really had nothing to do with me, I didn’t have to accept it, and that I was already whole and complete. This change in perspective made all the difference in the world.

Whatever negative thoughts we are presented with — lack, limitation, frustration, etc. — they are not a part of us as the beloved sons and daughters of God. God has given each of us a perfect mind and identity that is creative, intelligent, peaceful, valuable, needed, and whole. We each have the mind of Christ. We can shut out the carnal mind with it’s false assumptions. We have the spiritual authority to resist and overcome thoughts that are unlike God. God has given us this power and ability.

God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. 2 Timothy 1:2

I am supremely grateful for this experience. It showed once again just how wonderful and good God is. Just one moment of divine consciousness — perceiving the nature of God, the truth of being, and our relationship to God — can heal, save, and stop a flood of tears.
