Happy Father’s Day!

Happy Father’s Day to all the Dads out there! And to each one of us who has expressed strength, courage, support and care for another.

We all include and express those Father-like qualities! They aren’t limited to gender. They are spiritual (just like Motherhood qualities are) and within all of us.

I deeply enjoyed this audio interview. I hope you will enjoy it, too. It really shows how no matter what the human fathering scene has been like in our life, we have always had and always will have our one, real, true Father God. God is tenderly loving and caring for each one of us. Christ Jesus illustrated such a tender, trusting relationship with our Father praying in such a way as: “Father, I thank You that You have heard Me. And I know that You always hear Me…” (John 11:41-42 NKJV) and calling Him “Abba” or Daddy.

So if you are in need of some healing in the father scene – looking for a lasting sense of fatherhood in your life or wanting to be a better father – I hope this audio chat will inspire you!

Happy Father’s Day!

Evil’s suggestions

I think we can learn a lot from Eve in the Bible. Notice in this allegory, that evil didn’t make Eve do anything. Evil didn’t force this metaphorical apple down her throat. Eve made the decision to consume the apple.

The illusion of evil is often suggesting that we do, say or think many things which are contrary to our nature. Our inherent nature is spiritual, pure and perfect. We bite into this apple when we are mesmerized to think we are not who we are.

If we think we are sinful, sickly mortals then we follow that pattern. But if we realize we are spiritual ideas of the Infinite/Supreme, the image and likeness of the Divine, then that will show us how to think and act right here and now.

Mary Baker Eddy, a Christian teacher and healer, wrote,

“The Revelator tells us of ‘a new heaven and a new earth.’ Have you ever pictured this heaven and earth, inhabited by beings under the control of supreme wisdom?”

She then tells us how to live being controlled by supreme wisdom:

“Let us rid ourselves of the belief that man is separated from God, and obey only the divine Principle, Life and Love. Here is the great point of departure for all true spiritual growth.” (Science and Health with Key to the Scripturesp. 91)

Seeing and understanding our divinely given spiritual nature and identity gives us power and authority to resist the illusion of evil and live an inspired, thoughtful, compassionate and healthy life right here and now. This makes us live in accord with God’s will, allows the Holy Spirit, Christ, to impel, guide, uplift us, and enables us to help others.

Have fun living your Christly, spiritual life today! Let your light shine 🙂

Repost: Communication

This blog post by “Daring to live in love! The alternate economy” has some great ideas and guidelines for communication.

Week 8: COMMUNICATION — No blah blah.

Is it kind?

Think: Gossip. Building yourself up at someone else’s expense. Mean-spirited, oppressive put downs. Spreading rumors.

Is it necessary?

‘Unnecessary’ would include: Talking just to hear yourself talk. Trying to always have the last word. Bragging. Meaning to shock others. Self-indulgent blah blah.

Is it true?

Obvious, right? Lying. Misrepresenting. Tearing down your opponent. Demonizing ‘the other’.

Does it improve upon the silence?

There are times when it’s not possible to be better than simply silent: Being ‘present’ to someone dying, or in pain. Holding someone’s confidence. Refraining when in emotional turmoil. Not rising to the bait. Considering: Do I really know what’s best??
