Love and feel loved!

“Children are God’s most precious gift”.

As a mother, I agree wholeheartedly.

As a spiritual healer, I know we are ALL God’s precious gifts. God doesn’t seen us in terms of age — as used up or past our expiration date.

We are EACH God’s most precious gift everyday!

He/She created us for a unique purpose — a unique combination of Her qualities (grace, wisdom, purity, joy, etc).

“Love your neighbor as yourself.” (Mark 12:31)

Seeing the value of and loving others reflects that same value and love back to you.  It is actually the love dwelling in your heart for others that enables you to feel loved!

So the more you love, the more loved you will feel.

The same rule applies for our children — because we feel love pouring out to them, we feel loved in return  for the opportunity to get to be with them and because of the love dwelling in our hearts.

It’s the law of the reciprocity of love!

Does force do us any good?

I was reading a news article in which one leader of a country was saying the only way to accomplish its goals was required through force.

I questioned this conclusion. Really…is the only way to accomplish something through force? Has any good thing every been accomplished by human force? We can’t force the sun to rise or set; we can’t force a flower to open; we can’t force a baby to go to sleep.

In fact, I would say that we can’t really “force” any thing good to happen. There is the old Christian sentiment: Let go and let God.

God is the force, will and love the causes things to happen. This force of good is always active, always present and is always working for the benefit of everyone. We can’t make it happen; it is already happening; we are simply a witness to this fact (witnessing isn’t a passive thing; it is actively seeing the facts of spiritual reality — the truth about God and man’s relationship).

Here’s an example: I was trying to put our baby down, but he just wasn’t going to sleep. I was really trying to make it happen (this rocking will be soothing!). He immediately did fall asleep, though, when I changed my thinking — when I witnessed the harmony of that moment. What could I be doing during that time? Praying! I had some praying to do, so I decided that was as good of a time as any, I’d better get started. He fell asleep right away. The truth about that moment was that I have a purpose and so does he. Our purpose’s can not interfere or take away from one another. And they didn’t!

I couldn’t force him to go to sleep, but I could be a witness to the spiritual facts of that moment: all is harmonious, all is peaceful, complete, and we are not deprived of anything (since divine Love supplies all).

Perhaps these leaders may have had to put a baby down to sleep at one time. Maybe they can then recognize that the same tenderness, patience and gentleness is required in their relations to others.

Everyone is special

My family has a tradition of celebrating Special Days. It started with my husband and I because we like to buy each other little gifts. We also don’t like the silly focus on how old someone is that comes along with birthdays. So we celebrate Special Days several times a year. It’s a surprise because your Special Day falls on whichever day the family has decided to honor how special you are.

I love how it reminds me to show my appreciation for my family members frequently. And isn’t that the best part about birthdays — to honor someone’s unique, God-given identity?

I don’t think God knows about our age or personality or what color hair we have. I think God has a completely different view because God isn’t like man, God is a Spirit. The one and only Spirit. Infinite Life. Everlasting Love.

It’s nice to know that there is One out there who is seeing us as we really are — spiritual, unique, and free; Her adoring image & likeness; The reflection, the mirrored image, of the Perfect One.

I hope to see everyone around me the way God sees us today: made of beautiful, shining qualities radiating & shining out to warm & bless everything around you.
