Rejoice! Now we are the sons and daughters…

Inspiration — we’ve all had it and we’ve probably all felt like we lost it at one point or another.

Recently, I was going through a stint of feeling uninspired. After talking with a friend, though, I realized that inspiration is always present.  Remembering that I had been inspired before inspired me to see that I could feel the inspiration again — right now!

Inspiration is the result of God; Immanuel or “God with us”; it is the result of divine Love always wanting us to see Her and know Her. The “Holy Spirit” is the animating divine presence, power and activity of our lives. It is what makes us feel that we know (spiritually) even as we are known (spiritually).

Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I have been fully known. (1 Corinthians 13:12 ESV)

The “then” is now! Now are we the sons and daughters of God! (I John 3:2)

When our sons shall be as plants grown up in their youth, And our daughters as corner-stones hewn after the fashion of a palace; (Psalms 144:12 ASV)

We are those sons and daughters now — don’t accept anything lower. You are spiritual and you are at one with the divine Spirit — the Holy Spirit — leading, animating and giving you divine direction here and now.

We can not be separated from the spiritual understanding of who we are here and now.

You are loved! You are blessed! You are polished like a palace. Rejoice!

Let the divine light shine

Each day is filled with such inspiring ideas about God’s love and perfect creation. I write many blogs in my mind, but often don’t get them down on my computer!

Today I read an inspiring article called “What you think counts“.

It explains how healing can happen when you entertain good thoughts about those around you.

The article shares this illustration:

…let us assume you are sitting in your living room with a friend. It is twilight, and you say, “I wish to read this article,” and you turn on a strong overhead light. This light enables not only you but also your friend to read. Neither had a darkness of his own. No, there was only one darkness, and one bright light dispelled it. Two lights were not required to dissipate the one darkness. The one bright light sufficed.

Each one of us has the light of Christ — divine goodness and love — to shine!

Jesus said, “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.” Matthew 5:16.

It helps me to think of this as “let God’s light shine”, so I don’t feel tempted to think I have a personal power/light separate from God (after all, Jesus also said, “Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God.” Mark 10:18).

Doesn’t this illustration make you want to shine this divine light brightly so that everyone can feel and experience divine goodness and the healing power of Love? It shows me that YES what we hold in thought does make a difference and each thought can be utilized to shine that light and bless others!

Have a happy day shining that light and blessing those around you!

Pause & listen

A favorite poem says “Shepherd show me how to go…”. Recently, when trying to quiet the mind so I can fall asleep, I pray: Shepherd, show me how to listen.

Listening is an activity and requires quieting one’s own will and stilling the human mind to be receptive to the divine Mind communicating quiet, calm, confident, peaceful ideas.

These ideas lead up to their divine Source; they take us higher to behold spiritual views (mentally and spiritually) and feel refreshed by this communion with a Holy Presence.

The poem continues: I will listen for Thy voice lest my footsteps stray…

We can strive to maintain this conscious communion with God throughout the day. Even while you are in a conversation, you can listen for divine Mind to communicate the words and ideas for you to share. If you feel your mental, spiritual footsteps beginning to stray, take a timeout to center yourself and bring your focus back to Good.

This also demands spontaneity and flexibility. It’s pretty hard to move a boat with an anchor down. Being open to new ideas will assist you to feel Divine Presence moving you through the day as naturally as a river current moves above the rocks in its way.

(The words of the poem mentioned are by Mary Baker Eddy.)
