The healing power of church

clasped-hands-541849_960_720I love church. My love for church has grown and so has my understanding for the spiritual growth, humility and love it takes to serve Christ’s church.

The church that I love is based on the healing power of Christ. A church that is willing to love without conditions or boundaries.

I have seen the power of Christ connect people of all types and backgrounds. Liberal and conservative. Black and white. Homosexual and heterosexual. Homeless and wealthy. Toddlers and seniors. All attracted to the same church. Why? Because ultimately there is a craving for divine, infinite Love that uplifts, heals and saves and gives meaning to our lives.

Here there is not Greek and Jew, circumcised and uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave, free; but Christ is all, and in all.

may-703626_960_720This flies in the face of so much of what we see today, which wants to separate us based on our history, politics, age, race and religion. Christ is above all this. We have the right to know we are all loved and accepted (as Jesus showed us), and we can live that Christ-spirit where ever we go.

I’m not pretending the Bible doesn’t talk about judgement and separating the “goats” from “sheep” in God’s fold, but I am convinced that this is talking about states and stages of thoughts and actions.

We want to judge — be spiritually discerning in — our own thinking every day and determine if thoughts are coming from God (harmonious, loving, kind, spiritual, limitless, generous, forgiving) or from a mortal ego (limited, fearful, destructive, condemning).

Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me and know my thoughts: And see if there be any way of wickedness in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.

Self-knowledge is an essential component of spirituality. God knows everything that He made is good, spiritual and perfect. We can know that, too.

friends-1149841_960_720Each day I can pray: How can I love more? How can I serve You better? We can also pray wholeheartedly for a greater understanding of God and everyone’s relationship to Him. This will in turn bless us and every community.

Divine unfoldment

20160409_172524
Goodness and progress are always unfolding in our lives, but sometimes we may really want to see how it’s all going to turn out! That’s the nature of the human mind.

The human mind is opposed to God and must be put off, as St. Paul declares.

20160409_171212
God isn’t an anthropomorphic “old man” high in the sky, though we often use human terms to describe Him. Really God is more of an infinite, all-embracing, impartial, divine Love and Substance that is the Source of all. This Substance is what makes up you and me, our divine essence and nature.

I love seeing all the flowers blossom in spring. They are fantastic and the aroma is wonderful! Seeing a tree filled with hundreds of delicate blossoms helps me to see God’s love, who gives us those tiny little buds and blossoms for Her delight.

It is Love which paints the petal with myriad hues, glances in the warm sunbeam, arches the cloud with the bow of beauty, blazons the night with starry gems, and covers earth with loveliness.

We don’t worry that the buds won’t open up; we trust they will open in just the right way and at just the right time. So it is with life. When we are praying for something, we can trust that spiritual desire to God. We can listen to God telling us that we are loved, that we are made in Her likeness to shine Her beautiful light, and patiently wait for Love to unfold Her blessing in our lives.

You will go out in joy and be led forth in peace; the mountains and hills will burst into song before you, and all the trees of the field will clap their hands.

We are immeasurable goodness expressed!

Humans love to measure things.

dawn-190055_960_720We measure our bodies. We measure our income. We measure our life expectancy.

Are there things that we can’t measure? Yes, and the most meaningful is infinite Spirit.

Spirit is the source of your identity. The real you. And you can not be measured!

You are infinite just like your Father-Mother Creator. You are incorporeal just like your Father-Mother God. You are at one with Her Being, and you reflect everything that She is!

How’s that for a measurement? It’s infinite!

Sometimes we get fooled into thinking that the things we do make us valuable. But our identity is already created in the image and likeness of God, and that’s priceless! So, next time you get trapped into thinking how many Facebook likes you get determines your value; or how much money you make; or how many years you’ve been on this planet — none of these give you real value. We all have the same value and it’s immeasurable!
